Senior Hydraulic Modeller

Job Type: Full Time

Job summary:

The role will include:

  • Planning and supervising various surveys,
  • Managing various site visits – walkovers, investigations, observing survey contractors
  • Building hydraulic models
  • Verification of hydraulic models
  • Analysing results using a variety of software packages including excel
  • Generating plans using Mapinfo
  • Report writing.
  • Leading Client project meetings.
  • Project management – programmes, costs & profitability
  • Checking and approving reports and outputs
  • Involvement in bid work and fee proposals
  • Preparation and reviewing of Health & Safety Risk Assessments
  • Introduction to Business Development
  • Developing & delivering in-house Accredited Training Programme modules
  • Supervising of others to undertake the following tasks whilst also delivering their own program:
    • Prepare project scopes
    • Responsibility for project technical outputs.
    • Solution modelling
    • Checking / Auditing the work of graduates, assistant and modellers (both internal and external)
    • Engaging with clients either on the phone and or via email or via attendance at meetings with more senior members of staff

What type of person are we looking for?

The successful person for this role will:

  • Possess a relevant degree or other qualification supplemented by appropriate experience
  • With 6+ years practical experience in the wastewater hydraulic modelling field
  • Have extensive technical understanding of ICM / Infoworks, for 1D and 2D and associated software
  • Demonstrate People and Project management skills
  • Be a Member of appropriate professional body, working towards Chartership
