Three full DAP Model Audits were undertaken for Irish Water. The catchment models serving Malahide, Swords and Portlaoise were constructed by Irish Water’s Framework partners in accordance with Irish Waters latest ‘Wastewater Network Data collection and scoping Standard’. The objectives were to produce ‘fit for purpose’ DAP’s in order to deliver proposals to support a future Wastewater Source Control Programme for the catchments.
All aspects of the data collection, model build and verification were audited against the latest specification. All three catchments had specific catchment wide issues such as significant ground infiltration, poor flow monitoring conditions resulting in low flows and depths and complex asset operating regimes. As such communication between auditor and modelling consultant at key milestones but also as and when issues arose during the process was fundamental in ensuring successful outcomes.
The audited models are summarised below.
| Catchment | Population | Flow Monitors FM / RG | Modelled Ancillaries CSO / SPS |
|---|---|---|---|
| Portlaoise | 20145 | 111/16 | 16/17 |
| Malahide | 21660 | 65 / 6 | 13-Apr |
| Swords | 36924 | 58 / 11 | 13 / 18 |
